The photographs in this project were made over the course of one year, following the seasonal changes along Paint Creek in Ohio. As a child, my father would take me there to spend time together. I have no memories of this, just stories. The creek winds through rolling hills and dense woods, a place people come to spend time in nature. Scattered along the creek are suicide prevention signs, reminders of another relationship people have had with this place. Returning throughout the year, I became increasingly aware of the impermanence of the landscape, of life, and of memory.
